For Microsoft 365 administrators — takes about a minute, once per organisation
Before VoiceBridge AI can join meetings in your organisation, an administrator has to approve it once. Until that is done the interpreter cannot join, and people will see a message in the meeting panel asking them to send you here.
You must be signed in as a Global Administrator of the organisation you are approving for.
Microsoft works out which organisation you are approving for from the account you sign in with, so there is nothing to look up or type. You will see the permissions listed, and can accept or decline.
Approval does not reach Microsoft's calling platform the instant it is granted — it is usually seconds, occasionally a few minutes. Rather than guessing, ask. Enter your organisation's ID or any of its domains and check.
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Join group calls and meetings as an app | The interpreter joins the meeting as a participant, the same way a person does. |
| Access media streams in a call as an app | It has to hear what is said in order to interpret it. |
| Initiate outgoing group calls from the app | Used when the interpreter is brought in by meeting ID rather than from the panel. |
| Sign in and read user profile | To show the right person's language choice and usage in the panel. |
An administrator can withdraw it at any time in the Microsoft Entra admin centre, under Enterprise applications → VoiceBridge AI. The interpreter stops being able to join meetings immediately.
